This protocol describes procedures to obtain representative samples of bitumen, polymer modified binders (PMBs), cutback bitumen, bituminous emulsions and crumb rubber.
Specification limits for bituminous binders and crumb rubber have been set based on representative samples being taken. The adoption of a uniform and practical sampling protocol will ensure that samples tested are representative of the average of the consignment or batch being sampled.
