This webinar presents an overview of key areas for improvement in pedestrian safety guidance, including gaps in existing standards, guidelines, and methodologies.
Join presenters Kenn Beer and Max McCardel as they discuss opportunities to strengthen a systems-based approach to pedestrian safety planning, intervention selection, and evaluation. Through a combination of literature review and stakeholder engagement, the “Keeping People Safe When Walking: Stream 2 – Strengthening Key Practitioner Guidance and Methodologies” Work Package has identified challenges practitioners face and highlights potential enhancements to national guidance. This Work Package culminated in the Research Report “AP-R756-26”. Over 100 unique recommendations were made to contribute to the ongoing evolution of pedestrian safety practices, informing future updates to relevant transport policies and standards.
This webinar distills the key findings from this Work Package and provides transport professionals the opportunity to understand further how pedestrian safety treatments are planned, developed and delivered across Australasia.
This webinar was presented by Kenn Beer and Max McCardel. The Q+A was moderated by Phil Harbutt.
