The characterisation of the flexural stiffness and fatigue behaviour of bituminous mixtures in Australia and New Zealand is undertaken using a four-point bending (4PB) configuration.
This document describes the procedures to be followed to verify that a 4PB test configuration complies with the requirements of Austroads test method ATM-274 Characterisation of Flexural Stiffness and Fatigue Performance of Bituminous Mixes.
The procedures in this test method are advisory rather than mandatory and reference should be made to the relevant test methods for the required standards.
