Austroads Technical Specification ATS 1215 sets out the requirements for the supply and use of temporarily trafficked steel plates (‘Road Plates’). Road Plates are used to temporarily cover excavations that may be traversed by vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.

ATS 1215 applies to all Road Plates with an area greater than 0.5 m2.
