Austroads Technical Specification ATS 5280 sets out the requirements for undertaking High Strain Dynamic Pile Testing (HSDPT) using wave equation analysis techniques.
The Contactor must ensure that the HSDPT is undertaken in accordance with AS 2159 and the additional requirements of this Specification by an Approved Testing Organisation.
HSDPT must be undertaken at the frequency specified in ATS 5230, ATS 5240 and ATS 5260 (as applicable).
If the organisation installing the piles is also the Approved Testing Organisation undertaking the HSDPT and if requested by the Principal, the Contractor must engage another Approved Organisation to independently analyse and verify the results of the HSDPT.
Edition 1.0 was superseded by Edition 1.1 in July 2025.
