In October 2024, Austroads hosted the Identity and Verifiable Credentials Summit and the 10th International Interoperability Test Event, which brought together more than 450 participants.
The attendees included key figures from the European Commission, the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, the Association of European Vehicle and Driver Registration Authorities, countries such as France and the Netherlands, U.S. states like Arizona, Utah, and Maryland, and Australian states and territories, including Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, Northern Territory, and Western Australia, Australia’s major banks, and leading identity and wallet providers.

Discussions led by experts from Europe, North America, and Australasia focused on mutual recognition, trust, security, and privacy, further underscoring the importance of these credentials in a global context.
