Austroads has been recognised at the 2026 Australasian Reporting Awards (ARA), receiving a Silver Award in the General category and being named a finalist in the Special Award for Communication.
The Silver Award reflects a high standard of reporting against the ARA criteria. To achieve this level, an annual report must demonstrate solid disclosure of core business activities, regulatory compliance, and balanced, transparent reporting, supported by clear, reader-focused communication. It also requires outstanding performance in at least one major area of reporting and the inclusion of audited financial statements.
Being named a finalist in the Special Award for Communication recognises excellence in how organisations engage stakeholders through clear messaging, accessible content, and effective presentation of complex information.
Austroads Chief Executive Dr Geoff Allan said the recognition highlights both the quality of reporting and, more importantly, the work that underpins it.
“For Austroads, reporting is not just about meeting requirements. It’s about clearly communicating the value of the work we do on behalf of our member agencies and the broader transport community.”
Austroads Annual Report is a key way of sharing progress, outcomes and impact across Australia and New Zealand.
“It helps our stakeholders understand not only what we’ve done, but why it matters,” said Geoff.
Geoff acknowledged the people across Austroads and its member organisations, noting that this recognition speaks to the quality and impact of their work.
Geoff also recognised the Australasian Reporting Awards for the role they play in lifting reporting standards across the region.
This achievement marks a clear progression in Austroads’ reporting over the past three years, with one Bronze Award followed by two consecutive Silver Awards, alongside its first recognition as a finalist in the communications category.
Read the 2024-25 Austroads Annual Report. It highlights a year of strong performance, innovation, and collaboration across Australia and New Zealand’s transport sector. It shows how Austroads works closely with its members – transport agencies representing all levels of government in both countries – and industry partners to deliver safer, more efficient, and sustainable transport systems.
The report will be relevant to transport practitioners, policymakers, and anyone interested in transport trends, government policy, and future investment priorities. It serves as a public record of the value delivered through public investment in Austroads.
