The project will develop evidence-based recommendations and, if applicable, updates to the Austroads Guide to Road Design (AGRD) so that a road designer can safely and consistently accommodate large freight vehicles (LFVs). Stage 1 will review national and international evidence—including NEF6394 outputs—and confirm the need for guidance changes. Stage 2, if opted by Austroads, will undertake broad stakeholder engagement and draft urgent AGRD amendments.
