Construction Method of an Incrementally Launched Network Arch Bridge on Sydney Gateway

The Twin Arch Bridges over Alexandra Canal comprise two separate 100m-long network arch bridges, each forming an independent carriageway. These bridges are part of the Sydney Gateway project, designed to realign traffic along Airport Drive across Alexandra Canal.

This paper focuses on the assembly and launching methodologies adopted for the network arch bridge structures. Given the unique site constraints, a bespoke and innovative construction method — never previously implemented — was developed.
