The purpose of this report is to support informed decision-making and maximise the potential benefits of current and emerging vehicle technologies. This research provides an overview of current and emerging issues and gaps relevant to the 3 thematic areas of connectivity, automation, and electrification.
The report supports the Austroads Vehicles and Technology program, as well as Austroads members and key stakeholders by providing information and proposed priority activities to inform decision making in relation to future work programs, projects and activities.
The methodology for this report involved a literature review and stakeholder consultations. Outputs from these activities were collated and analysed to enable identification and validation of common themes, issues, and gaps. These were consolidated into 24 key findings, which were then used to develop a list of proposed priority actions.
A key output of this project is a navigable PDF diagram, included in the appendices, which illustrates a roadmap for each thematic area. This document outlines previously published Austroads reports, current Austroads projects, as well as proposed future activities.
