Austroads study puts urban freight in sharper focus

Efficient urban freight keeps cities productive, but road managers and transport agencies face increasing pressure to balance freight needs with community expectations and competing demands for urban space. A new Austroads study highlights the need for clearer definitions, better data, and practical tools to help decision makers better understand and respond to urban freight pressures.

Austroads releases recommendations to update its guides for large freight vehicles

A new report examines how existing Austroads guidance addresses the geometric design requirements needed to accommodate large freight vehicles (LFVs).  The report focuses on the physical space and layout required for safe and efficient LFV operations, rather than vehicle mass.
