Within Australia and New Zealand, the processes, procedures and reporting of mass and dimensions of Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) differs significantly depending on the jurisdiction where the measurements take place. Austroads’ recent study examines these differences and proposes a uniform set of procedures and documentation that can be used to harmonise the weighing, measuring and recording of certified information for SPVs in Australia and New Zealand prior to operating on the road or operating in another jurisdiction, cross border.

This webinar, presented by Saizo Takeuchi and Richard Jakimowicz, describes the proposed procedures, including project background, research and consultation findings as well as the benefits that the adoption of these procedures can bring to the road infrastructure, road operators and the SPV industry.
