Road Authorities, practitioners and other stakeholders have identified minor editorial issues within the Austroads Guide to Road Design (GRD) Part 3 that result in possible ambiguity or inconsistency within the Guides to Road Design Series.

A total of eight minor issues were identified within the GRD Part 3. The issues were investigated to deliver changes that updates existing or adds new guidance.

Existing available information (for example documentation held by road authorities and industry, captured learning / experiences, overseas information where information from a local context is not available) was used to develop the possible solutions.

Through a series of workshops and written feedback the Road Design Task Force undertook reviews of the updated and provided input to confirm the preferred update.

The proposed changes incorporate new or updated wording and figures to be implemented in future updates of the GRD Part 3.
