Austroads Technical Specification ATS 3545 sets out the requirements for the construction of a concrete base for a small-scale road pavement using Manual Paving and fixed formwork.
Examples of where it may be used include:
a) car and bus parking facilities;
b) bus interchanges;
c) indented bus bays;
d) floodways; and
e) short sections of widening of existing concrete pavements.
ATS 3545 does not cover any of the following:
a) Concrete pavements constructed using a paver and/or construction of large-scale concrete pavements carrying substantial volumes of heavy road vehicles (refer to ATS 3530).
b) Light duty footpaths, shared use paths or median infill (refer to ATS 4610).
c) Industrial pavements.
d) The structural design of the concrete base.
The Contractor must construct the concrete base in accordance with the Design Documentation and this Specification.
This technical specification is also available as a Word document.
