Austroads' Management of the Victorian Road Safety Auditor Register

Austroads manages the Victorian Road Safety Auditors Register. The Department of Transport and Planning remains accountable for the Victorian road safety auditor accreditation program.

The Victorian Road Safety Auditors Register is accessed through the link VIC | Register.

What's happened?

Auditors already accredited in Victoria who have provided their email address have automatically been included in the new Register, requiring them to only confirm their details.

About the register

The Victorian Road Safety Auditors Register is a secure online platform that helps auditors manage their accreditation. The platform supports:

  • New Road Safety Auditor registrations
  • Upgrades to Senior Road Safety Auditor status
  • Renewal of Senior Road Safety Auditor accreditation
  • Submission of auditor feedback
  • Public searches for registered auditors

Difference between the register and the Austroads harmonisation project

This transition is separate from the Austroads National Harmonisation of Road Safety Audit Practice project, which is underway and expected to be completed in late 2026. That project aims to align audit practices across jurisdictions, improving consistency for practitioners who work nationally.

Key questions

No. All current (accredited) Victorian road safety auditors will be automatically transferred to the new platform. However, they will be asked to confirm their details once the Victorian Road Safety Auditor (RSA) Register goes live.

Once the Victorian Road Safety Auditor (RSA) Register is live, Austroads will provide contact information through the register.
