Austroads Technical Specification ATS 5140 sets out the requirements for the supply, assembly, installation, grouting, stressing and monitoring of ground anchors which are post-tensioned. It includes drilling, grouting and water testing, and sealing of the boreholes.
This Specification:
- applies to both temporary and permanent ground anchors with appropriate corrosion protection systems installed into soil or rock;
- may also be applied to anchors which are stressed directly to ground and to unstressed or lightly stressed tie-downs which anchor structures to rock or soil through intervening unsound stratum; and
- applies to both strand and bar tendons.
