This webinar will highlight key themes from the Enabling Accessible EV Charging guidelines, which provide guidance on improving the usability of EV charging infrastructure for people with disability.
The session will touch on selected aspects of the EV charging experience, including site layout, charging equipment, wayfinding, and payment, focusing on issues that commonly arise in real-world deployments. Drawing on research, consultation, and international best practice, the webinar will share insights into accessibility challenges and examples of good practice emerging in Australia and overseas. The webinar aims to support awareness and informed decision-making among planners, infrastructure providers, and policymakers as EV charging networks continue to expand.

Erik van Vulpen is Deputy Director of the Centre for Technology Infusion at La Trobe University, with senior executive responsibility for applied research strategy, industry partnerships, and large multi-partner programs spanning transport technology, accessibility, and digital innovation.
Dr Aseel Bedari is a researcher at the Centre for Technology Infusion (CTI), La Trobe University, specialising in intelligent systems, human-machine interfaces, and data-driven innovation in transport. Her work focuses on improving safety, accessibility, and connected mobility through applied research and large-scale trials.
Dominic Harvey is a research assistant at the Centre for Technology Infusion (CTI), La Trobe University, with work primarily focuses on improving the accessibility and safety of transport and public infrastructure for people with disabilities.
