Knowledge Hub
Around 1,500 people lose their lives each year in road crashes in Australia and NZ. Another 40,000 people suffer serious injuries each year. Aligning with global targets, Australia and New Zealand have set national targets of zero road deaths and zero serious road trauma by 2050.
Charting a Path to Eliminating Road Death and Serious Injury provides practical guidance to help Australia and New Zealand move towards zero road deaths and serious injuries by 2050. It sets out a Safe System-based approach for developing long-term pathways, strengthening road safety management, and supporting the change needed to deliver zero trauma outcomes.
This Knowledge Hub brings together the project’s key artefacts, including the Planning for Zero Framework, Zero Pathway guidance, Safe System End State Case Studies, communication and engagement tools, change management resources, training materials, and supporting reports.
It is designed primarily for road authorities, road safety leaders, policy makers, planners, designers and practitioners, while also supporting governments, road safety partners, industry, researchers, advocacy groups and others working towards Vision Zero.
